FORE A GOOD CAUSE – CHARITY GOLF DAY

The Back Story

During the last lockdown 3 friends and FORE Business Members, Rob of Eagle Apparel Golf, Sean McAuley of Qonnectd & Simon Farebrother of St James’s Place – Wealth Management, were having some friendly golf banter & discussed a game once golf returned. The Match

Simon, Sean and Rob are putting their golf skills (and pride) on the line for charity. The format will be a 3 way Skins match which should keep the match interesting until the very end. And the best bit? YOU can all get involved!

We’re selling raffle tickets off back who you think you will win the big match. This raffle ticket will then grant you an entry into a prize draw to WIN a £100.00 voucher to spend on some top quality Eagle Golf Apparel clobber!

The catch? CHOOSE WISELY – because only those who back the winning player will be entered into the prize draw for the vouchers!

See below for more information on each individual player and their charities.

ALL PROCEEDS, will go to their respective charities!

But that’s not all… the two losing players will both make an additional contribution to the winner’s chosen charity PLUS cover the cost for the prizes.

The Players

Rob French.PNG
Rob – Eagle Apparel Golf

Rob is a 2 Handicap golfer who Plays at Sherwood Forest Golf Club. He is a steady player, doing nothing flash but gets the ball in the hole consistently. Putting is a strength, the game could be won by holing that 6-foot clutch putt on the 18th Green.

His charity of choice is Myeloma UK:
“Thank you for supporting our FORE A GOOD CAUSE – CHARITY GOLF DAY. My charity of choice is very close to my heart, supporting those people battling the rare blood cancer Myeloma. 6 years ago we tragically lost my Grandmother from the disease which is found within 2% of all cancer patients, then a year on my Dad was diagnosed with the same illness.

He has had many treatments to fight the cells but more research is required to help others in his situation which is where the raised funds will go
”Please find below Rob’s just giving link, all proceeds will go to his charity & if he wins The Match, you will be entered into the raffle draw for a £100 Eagle Apparel Voucher.

Simon – St James Place Wealth Management

Simon is a 4 Handicap golfer who Plays at Sherwood Forest Golf Club. He has an abundance of power at his disposal. On his day Simon’s power can make him a serious threat but it will depend on his flat stick behaving.

His charity of choice is St James’s Place:
“Thank you for supporting our FORE A GOOD CAUSE – CHARITY GOLF DAY. St James Charitable Trust are a fantastic organisation that helps fund hundreds of charities each year to make a positive and lasting difference ”

Please find below Simon’s just giving link, all proceeds will go to his charity & if he wins The Match, you will be entered into the raffle draw for a £100 Eagle Apparel Golf Voucher.

Sean – Qonnectd

Sean is a 4 Handicap golfer who was a member at Belton Woods Golf Club. He is a good player off the tee and putter is solid. Sean is one to watch as he grew up playing in Northern Ireland, if the wind blows, he could be your man.

Sean’s charity is Lincoln Hospital – Rainforest Ward:

“It’s Christmas eve morning and all is quiet, my 2 years old daughter wakes up early and so I sneak downstairs with her for some quality daddy-daughter time (and a chocolate croissant) leaving everyone else to sleep when on the penultimate step in the stairs I slip fall and Elsie’s head hits the floor!
Needless to say, the house is no longer sleeping.
Hours later Elsie and Mum are in Lincoln hospital with scans pending. A very stressful and emotional time. However, the staff on the Rainforest Ward were incredible!
The perfect Christmas gift was Elsie and mum leaving the hospital on Christmas morning! ”

Please find below Sean’s just giving link, all proceeds will go to his charity & if he wins The Match, you will be entered into the raffle draw for a £100 Eagle Apparel Voucher.
